This sculpture portrays an elderly street musician seated in an alley corner. Legs folded, body leaning forward, he grips an erhu tightly—pulling an older time into the air with each imagined note.
With mouth open as if singing, his expression is exaggerated yet sincere. The melody seems to rise, emotions spreading along the bowstring and lingering between narrow lanes and passing crowds—raw, rough, and deeply moving.
The erhu and bow are intentionally enlarged, emphasizing the force in his hands, the tension in his toes, and the twist of the torso. The entire pose carries rhythm and dramatic energy.
Hand-shaped from natural clay and left unpainted, the piece preserves the earthy tone and fired texture of the material. Visible handcrafted marks across the surface add to the sense of everyday life and age.
This is not a stage performance, but a street moment where art and living meet—played for passersby, and also for himself.
Display suggestion: Ideal for living rooms, study shelves, or curated displays. A collectible handmade sculpture that brings folk street culture, storytelling, and a sense of time into modern interiors.
